Paris Half Term Holiday
Exclusive half-term deals for stays in our Paris holiday flat in the vibrant district of the Marais
Make your half-term holiday come alive with a stay in one of Paris' most characterful and historic districts, the Marais. Enjoy Paris' thriving museum and cultural life or just relax and explore winding streets, old-style markets, boutique shops and the buzz of one of Europe's finest cities.
To bring your Paris vacation that little bit closer, Pad-a-terre is offering limited half-term deals on our Marais-Picasso holiday flat. This Marais apartment is surrounded by some of Paris' most striking 16th and 17th century architecture and yet situated within walking distance of some of the city's best attractions, including the Hotel de Ville, the Seine and Notre Dame Cathedral.
For the children:- Younger children will enjoy riding the escalators in the Pompidou Centre, just to the West of your holiday flat, or having a splash in the water spouts of the nearby Stravinsky Fountain. Little girls will also love the Doll Museum close to Rambuteau metro station. Also, just a short distance away by taxi, near the Gare d'Austerlitz, is the Paris Natural History Museum with its dedicated children's galleries and the Jardin des Plantes, an excellent botanical garden which sits alongside the Seine and boasts palm houses and an alpine garden.
- Closer to home, there is plenty of room to let off steam amongst the manicured paths and attractive topiary of the park at Place des Vosges which is only a couple of minutes walk from the Marais apartment. The park has a children's sandpit and climbing frames to keep kids amused whilst their parents savour the magnificent views across Paris' oldest planned square.
For the grown-ups:- Visit the Maison Victor Hugo, home of the revered French poet and author of "Les Miserables". Tours of the museum house are available in English and tell the story of Hugo's early life, his time in exile and his return to Paris. Other world-class museums in the Marais include the Arts and Crafts Museum set in a beautiful former abbey and the Carnavalet Museum of the History of Paris.
- If you love art-house cinema, why not check out the latest releases at the MK2 cinema on Rue Rambuteau? This reasonably-priced local favourite shows a range of releases across several screens, including English films in the "version originale" (French subtitled) for those not wanting to rely on schoolboy French. There is also a nearby multiplex in the Forum les Halles for children wanting their Hollywood favourites: check on the internet for films in English.
However you choose to spend your half-term holiday, Pad-a-terre's Marais-Picasso vacation apartment offers your family an attractive and convenient alternative to a hotel. This luxury holiday flat in Paris can accommodate up to 8 people, with a 2 doubles, one twin/double and a double sofa bed.
